CHAP. 65.

An Act respecting The United Church of Canada.

[Assented to 5th April, 1939.]

WHEREAS The United Church of Canada has by its petition prayed that it be enacted as hereinafter set forth and it is expedient to grant the prayer of the said petition: Therefore His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada enacts as follows:-

1. Chapter one hundred of the statutes of 1924, being An Act incorporating The United Church of Canada, is amended by adding the following as section thirty:-

"30. Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, congregations, members and adherents of The Presbyterian Church in Canada who did not on the tenth day of June, 1925, become part of the United Church of Canada and those persons who since that date had joined or may hereafter join with them as members or adherents might use the name "Presbyterian Church in Canada"; but this shall not in any way prejudice or affect the rights or powers of The United Church of Canada or of any constituent part thereof or of any corporation, board, committee or other body created by or under the government or control of or in connection with The United Church of Canada or of any congregation thereof."
